In Ukraine, the number of children killed and injured as a result of the war has increased

This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

On August 19, a 6-year-old girl was killed, and another 15 children aged 1 to 14 were injured in shelling by the Russian army in the central part of the city of Chernihiv.

Overall, the most affected children were in the Donetsk region.

What is known about the Russian missile attack on Chernihiv on August 19

On August 19, the Russian army shelled the center of Chernihiv: seven people were killed and more than 130 were injured. Among the dead is a 6-year-old child. According to preliminary data from the regional administration, it was hit by a ballistic missile. At the time, she was impressed by a drone show at the drama theater. It was known about its holding earlier, but the organizers informed the participants just a few hours before the event where exactly it would take place.

By the morning of August 20, a total of 148 wounded are known, including 15 children and 15 policemen. The 12-year-old girl was urgently transported by ambulance to Kyiv. The child's condition is serious.

Due to the rocket attack on Chernihiv, August 19-21 was declared a day of mourning in the city.
