Zelensky talked with US senators about strengthening Ukraine's defense capability system

On August 23, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US Senators Richard Blumenthal, Lindsey Graham and Elizabeth Warren. The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.

The politicians discussed the development of the situation at the front and the priority issue of further strengthening the system of Ukrainian defense capabilities.
They also noted the importance of initiating the F-16 handover process, pilot training, and continued US support in this regard.
“We appreciate Ukraine's bicameral and cross-party support. We are sincerely grateful to the President of the United States, Congress and the entire American people for their help" - Zelensky said.
US military aid to Ukraine
On August 14, the US announced a new $200 million military aid package for Ukraine, which included:
- ammunition for the Patriot and HIMARS systems;
- 155mm and 105mm artillery shells;
- 120 mm tank ammunition;
- TOW missiles;
- Javelin anti-tank complexes;
- 37 tactical vehicles for transporting equipment;
- 58 trailers for water equipment;
- over 12 million rounds of small arms;
- mine clearing equipment and systems, obstacle clearing missiles and equipment repair spare parts.
