Maksym Zhorin on the mobilization of politicians

In an interview with the ICTV channel, the deputy commander of the 3rd independent assault brigade referred to the mobilization regulations currently being created by the Ukrainian parliament.

According to Zhorin, the country's citizens must receive a clear signal that military conscription will be applicable not only to them, but also to the elites and their children.

"To stimulate society, it would be appropriate for those who consider themselves to be the elite to join the army. I don't think everyone is like that, but they screwed up, and that's what they think of themselves. Public figures, celebrities, people's deputies, non-people's deputies—all those whom people see before them. They could, as an example, join the army or let their children join the army," he said.

According to the military, mobilization is a completely normal process observed in all major wars. In this case, according to Zhorin, we should remember the times, among others: World War II, during which it was a shame if you did not volunteer to fight. "You can go the other way and point out those who are absolutely not useful in their positions".

I believe that today, even in the Verkhovna Rada, I am sometimes ashamed to see what individual deputies do. This is really turning into a circus. Ukrainians are watching some program for mentally disabled people," he emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelensky criticizes the mobilization. “Life is number one”

The proposal for new mobilization regulations was sharply criticized by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. In an interview for Channel 4 News, the politician emphasized that he had not heard detailed explanations from the military as to why as many as 500,000 new soldiers were needed.

"Life is number one. The second thing is appropriate actions and appropriate operations. To this day, I have not seen sufficiently clear details to conclude that half a million should be mobilized."

At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that the issue of financing such a large number of people should be carefully calculated. The President of Ukraine reminded that the army is not financed by Western aid.
