On December 16, during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine, one of the missiles hit an apartment building in the Terniv district of Kryvyi Rih. 4 people died, and 13 were injured. Among the dead was the young Korniychuk family - employees of the Kryvyi Rih iron ore plant. The eldest son of the couple was left an orphan. The company told how young, athletic, full of life and plans for the future people were. This is reported by the Kryvyi Rih Informator.

Viktoria Korniychuk, who is a relative of the deceased family, said that at first Oleksandr was pulled out from under the rubble, he was still alive, but it was not possible to save him. Later, Lyudmila's body was recovered from the wreckage.

Their son Artem, who was only 1.5 years old, also died during the enemy attack. "We still had very high hopes that Tymoshka, our little blue-eyed bunny ... that he would stay alive. They took a long time to sort out the rubble, they searched for the child for more than 12 hours. But we did not lose hope. They thought, maybe he is somewhere under some ceiling, somewhere deep... maybe the child is still alive..." - the woman said.

His 8-year-old son Maxim was left without his father, mother and brother. At the time of the rocket attack, he was visiting his grandparents. It saved him.

The family bought their apartment in this ill-fated building a year ago. In the first months of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Lyudmila and her children lived in Poland, but in August they returned to Kryvyi Rih.

The head of the family, Oleksandr, worked as a fixer at section No. 4 of the Kozatska mine tunnel of the mine construction department. His wife Lyudmila was a conveyor operator at the crushing and sorting factory of the Ternivska mine.

"Aleksandr Korniychuk comes from the village of Ordzhonikidze of Kryvorizka district. After finishing school, he studied at the Kryvyi Rih Professional Mining and Technological Lyceum. Having received a mining profession, the boy got a job at the "Svitex" private enterprise, where he began to work as an underground miner. After 8 months, he was transferred to the position of a fastener.

In 2012, Oleksandr Korniychuk connected his life with the Kryvyi Rih iron ore plant. He worked as a fixer of section No. 4 (mining and capital works) of the passage of the Kozatska mine of the SBU. He showed himself as an experienced, diligent and responsible worker, always ready to help. He enjoyed well-deserved respect both among his colleagues and the management of the enterprise and mine construction management.

His wife Lyudmila Korniychuk was also born in the village. Ordzhonikidze of Kryvorizka district. After completing special courses at the Kryvbaszalizrudkom JSC, she got a job as an apprentice conveyor operator at the crushing and sorting factory of the Kryvorizka mine. Later, after gaining experience, she worked as a machinist on the DSF conveyor of the "Ternivska" mine. She enjoyed well-deserved respect both among her colleagues and the management of the enterprise and mine "Ternivska".

She has been on maternity leave since June 2021. Together with Oleksandr, they raised two sons - the elder Maxim and the younger Artem.

Relatives, friends, and acquaintances remembered Lyudmila Korniychuk as a diligent employee, a caring wife, and a loving mother. Farewell to the deceased family will take place today, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. near the house on the street. Kashtanova, 27". - says the obituary.
