"We are advancing on the flanks": Cherevaty on the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Bakhmut direction

During the day, 23 combat clashes took place in the Bakhmut direction. The armed forces of Ukraine continue to advance in the direction of Bakhmut, in particular, work continues on the flanks.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, on the air of the telethon.

He said that 23 combat clashes took place in the Bakhmut direction during the day.

“We have an advance in the Bakhmut direction. There is combat work on the flanks, pressure is on the enemy. After a detailed analysis and verification, we will provide detailed data on the territory that was liberated” he said.

Cherevaty added that despite the breakthrough of the Armed Forces, the enemy continues to put up strong resistance.

During the day, the Ukrainian military managed to eliminate 116 invaders, another 119 were injured. Dozens of enemy vehicles were also destroyed.

“Over a day, they tried to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Lyman-Kupian direction,” summed up Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The situation in the Bakhmut direction

Earlier, Cherevaty reported that the occupying army continues to hold a powerful group in the Bakhmut direction. Despite this, the "Wagnerians" are no longer there.

Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War say that military operations around Bakhmut can turn out to be a risk for the Russian command in Kherson and Luhansk regions, or the withdrawal of invaders from the south of Ukraine.

American General Mark Milley is convinced that the summer counteroffensive launched by Ukraine will be long and “very bloody”.
