On Friday afternoon, an anti-Russian march took place in Warsaw. During the demonstration, flashlights were collected for Ukrainian children. It is supposed to be a symbolic "light from the world" - explain the organizers of the manifestation.

Crowds marched under the slogan “365 days of heroism, 365 days of support” from the Russian embassy in Warsaw at pod Sejm street. The demonstrators stretched a large Ukrainian flag along the Avenue of Victims of Russian Aggression, i.e., in the pedestrian and bicycle path along the embassy of the Russian Federation in Warsaw.

On Friday, hundreds of people gathered in solidarity with Ukrainians to oppose Putin's war and celebrate Ukraine's ongoing independence.

“Exactly one year ago, Russia – a terrorist state, unleashed a full-scale war against Ukraine. On the day of our march, it will be exactly 365 days of the heroic fight of Ukrainians for their country, democracy, human rights, for the life and future of their children “ - we read in the communiqué of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, the organizers of the march.

“It will also be the 365th day of solidarity and support from Poles. Let's all come together on this day to pay tribute to the heroes of this war and honor the memory of hundreds of thousands of civilian victims,” ​​it added.

Collection of flashlights for Ukrainian children

There were also collections during the demonstration. In addition to money, a collection of battery-powered flashlights for Ukrainian children was also organized. "4.5 million children in Ukraine live in darkness, because as a result of constant bombing, many towns are cut off from electricity. We know how children are afraid of the dark, so we want to give every child in Ukraine a flashlight - which they can always carry with them as a symbol of light from world!” - explain the Ukrainians living in Poland. The fundraiser is run by the Uniters foundation.
