Valery Zaluzhny is to lose his position. The aftermath of the conflict with Zelensky

Rumors persist that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to remove General Valery Zaluzhny from his position. This is also indicated by the latest information from the American daily, which reported that the dismissal of the army commander is certain and the White House has already been informed about the matter.

The authorities in Ukraine have decided to dismiss the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Valery Zaluzhny, according to information from the Washington Post. The United States was notified of the matter.

The White House "did not support or oppose" Kyiv's decision

The American daily, citing confidential sources, reports that White House representatives neither supported nor opposed the dismissal, claiming that it was Ukraine's sovereign decision.

This information is not surprising, as there has been talk of a conflict between General Zaluzhny and Volodymyr Zelensky for a long time.

The Ukrainian president allegedly suspects the army commander of having political ambitions. The two also allegedly argued about the issue of mobilization to replenish the size of the Ukrainian army.

During Monday's meeting with the president, Zaluzhny was to insist on conscripting 500,000 young Ukrainians into the army. However, Zelensky is against such a large number and was supposed to draw attention to the high financial and political cost of such a decision.

Zaluzhny openly criticizes Kyiv's methods

It was loud, among other things, about Zaluzhny's Thursday text for CNN, where he openly criticized the Ukrainian authorities for the way they waged the war. He called for a revolution on this issue, referring to the numerical advantage of the Russians and problems with mobilization in Ukraine. He emphasized that, in his opinion, it would be worth relying on unmanned systems and the latest technology.

According to the Washington Post, it is unclear when the decision will be announced, but Zelensky's change of mind is unlikely. Candidates for the new commander include the head of military intelligence, General Kyrylo Budanov, and the commander of the land forces, General Oleksandr Syrski.
