Ukrainians receive text messages from the occupiers: SBU reacted

The SBU treats text messages from the occupiers as a psychological operation

Residents of Ukraine receive SMS messages from the occupiers. The messages contain a proposal to exchange information about the Armed Forces for money. Such mailings are one of the methods of conducting information and psychological operations, says the SBU and advises to ignore this type of messages and not to click on links from suspicious contacts.

Russians are sending text messages to residents of the Kharkiv Oblast, offering to exchange information about the Armed Forces for money. OVA urges you not to use any links contained in this newsletter.

“We urge you not to use the links under any circumstances. We emphasize that it is not allowed to inform anyone about the location of Ukrainian soldiers or military equipment"

we read in a statement from the Kharkiv OVA.

The SBU treats text messages from the occupiers as a psychological operation

Such mailings are one of the methods of conducting information and psychological operations – the SBU press service commented on the message to "Suspilne".

“The security service records constant attempts by the enemy to destabilize the situation inside our country. Each such IPSO is within the SBU's field of view. And the secret service has developed reaction and neutralization algorithms for each of them. We recommend that citizens ignore such messages and do not click on links from suspicious contacts", the message says.

Russia has increased the number of cyberattacks

The analytical report of the State Intelligence Service indicates that in the first half of this year, the number of cyberattacks on Ukrainian systems more than doubled. While in the second half of 2022 the number of incidents was approximately 57 per month, in the first six months of this year – 128.

Ukrainian experts have recorded continuous activity of at least 23 Russian cyberterrorist hacking groups. They all pursue different goals, including military ones. The Russians carried out attacks to gain access to data of various security and state structures of Ukraine. Their main task was to gain access to materials transferred to courts and prosecutors' offices, as well as evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation. Moreover, as indicated, the number of cyberattacks on the private sector has increased, aimed at tracking the consequences of enemy attacks, in particular missile attacks and UAV attacks.

The media sector also experiences constant cyberattacks. The attacks were primarily directed against journalists and were aimed at using media resources in Russian disinformation campaigns.
