Ukraine urges Swift U.S. Military Aid amidst political delays and threats

American politicians have been unable to reach an agreement on a new military aid package for Ukraine for a long time. Kyiv's foreign minister said that his country would not surrender, and "if they run out of weapons, they will fight with shovels" because "the existence of the state is at stake". He also commented on allegations about American equipment and corruption.

According to the announcement, the United States was to provide the Ukrainian side with another aid package worth $60 billion. In mid-December 2023, John Kirby, spokesman for the US National Security Council, said that the package would be announced before the end of the year, but this did not happen.

American politicians have been unable to reach an agreement on this issue for a long time. Moreover, the said package is expected to be the last support from the US because, as explained, "the administration will no longer have any more funds to replenish its arsenal".

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba compares Putin to Hitler

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, gave an interview to ABC News, where, among other things, he explained that the United States should not consider giving Kyiv additional aid because defeating Russia in Ukraine would minimize the risk of a direct NATO military confrontation with Moscow.

"The cost of cleaning up the mess in the world that would occur if Ukraine were to fail will be much, much greater than any costs of supporting Ukraine", he said on Monday evening during an interview.

The politician ruled out any negotiations with Vladimir Putin. He mentioned that possible talks with the Kremlin could only take place after the situation on the front changes when Ukraine regains control over a significant part of the territory. At the same time, he denied that Russia had taken the initiative on the battlefield. During the conversation, he compared Putin to Hitler.

"Hitler also looked very strong for many years, and we all know how it ended"
noted the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"If we run out of weapons, we will fight with shovels"

Kuleba also denied reports that aid coming from the US was not fully used due to corruption.

"Everything you give us will be used as best as possible to end the war with victory as quickly as possible. Any Russian attempt to disinform the world about the alleged transfer or illegal trade of American weapons to other parts of the world is fiction. Therefore, do not believe in fake news, believe in Ukraine", said the politician.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba: We need weapons

"Even if we run out of weapons, we will fight with shovels", he said during an interview in the Ukrainian capital. "Because what is at stake for Ukraine is the existence of this nation", he added.

It is worth adding that various investigations conducted by the American side and EU institutions did not prove that Kyiv was using Western military aid illegally.
