Ukrainian 3rd Airborne Assault Brigade Deployed to Avdiivka Amid Escalating Tensions

In response to the deteriorating situation in Avdiivka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have deployed one of their most formidable units, the 3rd Airborne Assault Brigade, to the city. According to experts from Forbes, the soldiers have already arrived in Avdiivka, tasked with defending the crucial logistics artery known as the "path of life."

Reports from soldiers entrenched in Avdiivka indicate that the defenders are facing increasingly challenging circumstances due to recent advances by Russian forces. Consequently, the Ukrainian military command has opted to bolster the city's defenses by dispatching the 3rd Airborne Assault Brigade.

The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade will be sent to Avdiivka

According to sources, "This is the only Ukrainian ground combat brigade definitively held in reserve in eastern Ukraine since last week", highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The primary objective of the freshly deployed forces in the upcoming days will be to alleviate Russian pressure on the vital asphalt road traversing the city center, particularly Grushevsky Street.

The 3rd Airborne Assault Brigade, a renowned unit, was established on the foundation of the territorial defense force "Azov" on the onset of Ukraine's full-scale war. Comprised predominantly of veterans from the "Azov" National Guard of Ukraine and members of the Azov movement, the brigade played a pivotal role in defending Kiev and its surrounding areas. Notable victories include engagements in Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel. Colonel Andriy Biletski leads the unit.
