Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchych won the gold medal at the World Championships in Athletics, which will be held in the Hungarian capital. At the stadium in Budapest, a 21-year-old resident of Dnieper overcame a height of 201 cm, and it was Ukraine's first victory at the world championship in 10 years.
Yaroslava Maguchih shared her first impressions after the victory: “I feel amazing. After all, she won gold for her country. We will never give up, and we will fight until the end”.
The second and third places were taken by Australian competitors Elinor Patterson and Nicola Olislagers (both 1.99 m).
Maguchih, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, missed the world title twice. In 2019 and 2022, she won silver medals behind Maria Lasitskene and Australian Eleanor Patterson, respectively.
Maryna Beh-Romanchuk became a two-time vice-champion of the world, adding to the silver in the long jump of the Doha 2019 model the medal of the same type in the triple jump in Budapest. At the same time, a student of Wadym Krushynsky achieved the second best result in her career - 15.00 meters.
