Ukraine's victory over Russia will help maintain peace in Europe, said the president of Latvia

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics said that the world should continue to support Ukraine and fight for peace in Europe so that Russia cannot start aggression against other countries in the future. The politician said this in an interview with the Associated Press.

I believe that it will be much easier for us to maintain peace in Europe if Ukraine succeeds than if we all fail

Rinkiewicz said.

According to the Latvian president, Western countries are obliged to respond to the call of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and provide more weapons because “we have not provided as much as we should”.

The politician emphasized that the Russian Federation is currently mobilizing its economy, resources, and military equipment for a long-term war. Rinkiewicz also suggested renewed attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in the coming months.

At the same time, the Latvian president emphasized that it is important for the West to support both Ukraine and Israel. The politician noted that Iran is “very happy to see such developments in the situation in the Middle East”.

As Rinkiewicz noted, the EU realized that more weapons and soldiers were needed.
