Ukraine will triple its production of weapons and military equipment in 2023. It may soon become one of the leaders

In 2023, Ukraine is set to triple its production of weapons and military equipment, as announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media on Wednesday. Currently, more than 300,000 people are employed in the arms and defense industry in Ukraine.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to all those working in the defense industry, stating, "I am grateful to each of them - to all those who produce what is important to us, who modernize enterprises, who work almost around the clock". He further informed that awards and orders were presented during a meeting with representatives of both private and state-owned enterprises in the arms and defense industry.

"Ukraine is and will always be part of the free world. This means that our defense industry will be part of a much larger defense system. We have already concluded agreements with many leading countries and companies on joint production. There will be more such agreements, more joint production of weapons with the leading countries in this field,"
added the Ukrainian leader.

He also announced Ukraine's ambition to join the top ten countries in weapons production.

Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's clear objective, stating, "Ukraine's task is very clear: we must make our country strong and effective enough for Russia to know that every strike will be met with our response. This can only be achieved through sufficient production of our weapons".
