Ukrainian manufacturers have created an analog of the Russian Lancet drone, as well as drones similar to the Iranian Shaheds.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fyodorov talked about it on the YouTube Pressing channel.
“Today, the Lancet is quite an effective weapon. We are analyzing the statistics of the use of Lancets by Russia, and this affects modern warfare and the need to protect its own armored vehicles,” Fedorov said.
The minister called Russian drones "a great threat that needs to be dealt with". According to him, there are manufacturers in Ukraine who have already created a product similar to the "Lancet" and are working to increase the scale of its production.
When asked if Ukraine has drones similar to the Iranian "Shahed", Fedorov replied that they exist and their production is increasing.
Russia is actively deploying its own Lancet attack drones against Ukraine, which are mass-produced at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant. In total, as many as 900 of these drones were produced, of which 850 were used in the combat zone, Oleksiy Gromov, deputy head of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reported in early July.
According to Gromov, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has received about 1 800 Shahed drones from Iran and has used at least 1,600 of them. At the same time, stocks are regularly replenished with deliveries from Iran.
In addition, the US has information that Russia is receiving from Iran the materials necessary to build a factory for the production of "Shaheds", which may be fully operational early next year, said the official representative of the White House, John Kirby. According to him, the received satellite images show plans to locate the BSP production plant in the special economic zone "Alabuga" in Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan.
