Russia's aggression
On Friday, Russian troops once again shelled Kherson in southern Ukraine in recent days, injuring 23 people, including three children. The health condition of the three injured civilians is assessed as serious, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak announced on Telegram. Friday, June 16 is the 478th day of the war in Ukraine.
The Russians shelled Kherson again. This information was announced on social media by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.
“The terrorists hit residential buildings, a hospital, a kindergarten, and a supermarket. Also damaged were private cars and power lines. Many lives were saved thanks to air-raid shelters,” the politician said in a message on Telegram.
In Kherson, the removal of the effects of the flood caused by the destruction of the dam on the Dnieper River in Nova Kakhovka by Russian troops is still underway. The most difficult situation is in occupied Oleszki and Hola Prystani, located near Kherson.
On June 11, the authorities of the Kherson region announced that the aggressor's forces fired on flood victims who were trying to cross the Dnieper River by boat to areas controlled by the authorities in Kyiv. Three people died and 10 were injured.
The western part of the Kherson region, located on the right (west) bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, was liberated by Ukrainian troops in November 2022. The lands on the eastern side of the river are under Russian occupation. Just a few days after withdrawing from Kherson, the invaders began shelling this city and its surroundings from artillery positions located on the other side of the Dnieper.
As a result of these enemy actions, civilians are regularly killed. One of the most tragic events took place on May 3, when the Russians killed 23 people in the Kherson region and injured 46, including two children.
