On Tuesday, October 3rd, there was a military attack by Russian forces in Ukraine. The village of Antonivka in the Kherson Oblast was the target of a series of shelling incidents. Preliminary reports indicate one casualty, and an investigation has been launched by the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office.

Russian military forces conducted a raid on Antonivka, resulting in the tragic death of a 69-year-old man and injuries to seven others, with initial casualty figures being lower. Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the regional military administration, confirmed the attack and initially reported the incident on his Telegram channel.

Prokudin later provided updated information, revealing the death of the elderly man who had been in a garage when the Russian army attacked the town. He also expressed concerns about the possibility of people trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, and the situation was continuously evolving.

Preliminary information indicated injuries to three women aged 48, 28, and 65, as well as a 63-year-old man, who received on-site medical assistance. Prokudin later disclosed that three more people were injured, including two women aged 71 and 77, and a 49-year-old man, who received first aid but declined hospitalization.

According to official statements from the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, on October 3rd, the Russian military continuously shelled a village on the outskirts of Kherson, using artillery and guided bombs, with a particular focus on private homes. Prior to the attack, residents of the Kherson Oblast had been warned about the threat of rocket attacks and bomb launches. Prokudin had previously reported enemy air operations in the region on his Telegram profile.

Additionally, the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office reported that the Russians also shelled the Belozersk community, resulting in injuries to a man and a woman due to shrapnel. The attacks caused significant damage to residential buildings and other civil infrastructure facilities. Prosecutors, in coordination with investigative police, are actively documenting war crimes committed by the armed forces of the aggressor state.

This incident followed a night of attacks on October 2-3, during which Russia launched a series of drone and missile strikes against Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defense forces successfully downing 30 drones in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Some drone and rocket debris damaged industrial buildings. The previous day, the Russian army had also bombed Kherson, targeting a transport company and a police car, resulting in the death of one police officer and injuries to four others. Additionally, the Pokrovsk and Volnovsk regions of the Donetsk region were targeted, resulting in injuries to four people.
