This is nuclear terrorism that threatens the whole of Europe. The double shelling of the ZNPP by Russian troops with anti-aircraft missiles caused a risk to the plant's safe operation. Therefore, Zaporizhzhya NPP is currently operating with the risk of violating radiation and fire safety standards.

Currently, the Zaporizhzhya NPP continues to operate and produce electricity for the needs of Ukraine's energy system. This is reported by the Informant referring to the official page of "Energoatom".

As a result of the attack on the Zaporizhzhya NPP, emergency protection was activated at one of the power units. One of the three working power units is disconnected. As a result of shelling, the nitrogen-oxygen station and the combined auxiliary building were seriously damaged. There are still risks of hydrogen leakage and sputtering of radioactive substances, and the fire hazard is also high.

The Ukrainian staff of the station continues to work and make every effort to ensure nuclear and radiation safety, as well as eliminate the consequences of damage.

The nuclear power plant is still occupied and controlled by the Russian military. Given that it is impossible to predict the actions of invaders, the threat to the station's physical security remains.

Ukraine calls on the world community to take immediate measures to force Russia to release the ZNPP and transfer the power plant under Ukrainian control for the sake of the security of the whole world, - the message said.
