The prosecutor's office has started an investigation into the facts of the death of 13 residents of Marhants

Terrorist attacks on the Russian military. Proceedings have been initiated into the fact of the death and injury of civilians of the Nikopol district. The enemy shelling happened at night, August 10. This was reported by the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, on the night of August 10, 2022, the Russian military carried out artillery fire from rocket salvo systems on the residential quarters of Marganets. As a result, 13 people died. Another 11 victims were hospitalized. More than 20 high-rise buildings, a palace of culture, a dormitory, two schools, the building of the city council, administrative premises, and citizens' cars were damaged.

The occupiers also shelled Vyshchetarasivka of the Myrivsk territorial community. A woman died there and two civilians were wounded. More than 15 private houses were damaged.

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Nikopol District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is carried out in criminal proceedings based on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Information about the victims is being clarified. There are no military facilities on these territories. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. We remind you that in Nikopol (a city with a population of more than 100,000 people), the water supply disappeared due to shelling by Russian troops. People get water from special machines that transport it to all areas.
