The propeller caught on our roof and started burning: details of the disaster from a kindergarten teacher

At the time of the helicopter crash, the teacher Antonina Syritska was closing the window. She says she saw the rotorcraft touch the roof of the building and fall next to another building. The woman describes the scale of the fire: it caught fire as if burning tar. This is reported by Informator Ukraine.

According to Antonina Syritska, the children were just having breakfast. She heard a hum and thought a plane was flying. She warned the children to eat quickly. She planned to go down to the basement with them. When the teacher went to the window, she saw a screw. He says the helicopter hit the roof.

“He did not fall on us. He fell when I was already running, looking for the girl, and saw him under the house nearby. He hooked us. It seems as if a gas tank was thrown at us, and the garden immediately caught fire. The flame immediately lit up. We have such a yard. And in this yard began to burn – I think – tar. But not metal. And it started to fall on the windowsill from the street.”

The woman fell to the floor, after that she collected the children and started to go downstairs. She saw adults outside. One of the parents even got his jacket wet. Glass flew from the buildings. But only one wing of the kindergarten was badly burned.

We will remind you that on January 18, in the morning near a kindergarten in Brovary, near Kyiv, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service fell. Later it became known that there were 9 people on board, all of them died. Among the passengers are the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, First Deputy Yevhenii Yenin and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich. Currently, 16 victims are known, including three children.
