Urgent meeting between Morawiecki and the President of Lithuania
Due to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, as well as the potential threat of the presence of "Wagnerians" in the border area in Belarus, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland met with the President of Lithuania. On August 3, Mateusz Moravetskyi urgently met with Gitanas Nauseda to discuss i.a. possible provocations by Belarus and Russia.
The head of the Polish government stated that hybrid attacks on the Polish-Lithuanian border have been taking place for two years. According to Morawiecki, there will be more of them. The Prime Minister said that the Wagnerians could disguise themselves as illegal immigrants to get to Poland.
Morawiecki noted that foreign allies emphasize that the Wagner group, which is currently in Belarus, is very dangerous. According to the Polish authorities, there are probably several thousand Wagner mercenaries in Belarus.
Putin wants to cause chaos. Lukashenko sees the Wagner Group as allies in destabilizing Poland, Lithuania and other countries. "Wagnerites" can be used to professionally "push" immigrants into Poland and hack security systems. They can also disguise themselves as illegal immigrants to enter Poland and other NATO countries, said Mateusz Morawiecki
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda Litovsky said that the meeting with the Polish Prime Minister was fruitful. It took place today, near the Suwałki Isthmus, which connects the territory of the Baltic States with Poland and separates the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia and Belarus.
Nauseda said that issues directly related to the security situation on the borders of Poland and Lithuania were discussed during the meeting.
