On September 7, Russian troops shelled the private sector of Nikopol and the settlement of the Marganiec commune with barrel artillery. As a result of the blows, a woman and a man were injured.

The Informant reported this concerning the press service of the National Police of the Dnipro region.

In Nikopol, as a result of enemy fire, a woman and a man were injured – they were provided with the necessary medical assistance. Eight private residential buildings, five farm buildings, a car, fences and power lines were damaged. The walls, roofs, and windows of the buildings were destroyed.

Due to the fact that a war crime was committed by the army of the Russian Federation, the information was entered into the Unified Register of Preparatory Investigations under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Two soldiers from Nikopol - Andriy Korneenko and Oleksandr Nosenko - died at the front

Andrii Korneenko, junior sergeant of the 54th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, died on June 13, 2023.

“To his last breath, he defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country against the Russian occupier. Relatives, friends, representatives of the city authorities and caring residents of Nikopol came to pay their last respects to the fallen soldier," we read in the message.

On September 4, 2023, Nikopol's soldier Oleksandr Nosenko died in the fight for Ukraine.
