The occupiers shelled Nikopol with artillery on August 9: an investigation has been launched

On August 9, the Russian military shelled Nikopol twice with artillery. An investigation has been launched into this fact. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, reports the Informant. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is being carried out in criminal proceedings for violating the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On the night of August 9, 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, disregarding the norms of international humanitarian law, shelled Nikopol twice with artillery. As a result of enemy shelling, three local enterprises, a residential building, a car and a gas pipeline were damaged. An employee of one of the enterprises was hospitalized.

The occupiers also launched a rocket attack on the Velikomykhailiv community of the Synelniky district. An apartment building and cars of the citizens were damaged.

On August 8, 2022, Russian servicemen shelled the village of Velyka Kostromka, Kryvorizka District. The building of the educational institution was damaged.

Prosecutors continue to take all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. It should be noted that there are no military facilities in these territories.
