The Russian occupiers have intensified their efforts to storm Avdiivka and Novomychailovka, advancing towards Mariinsky. The invaders are launching attacks with minimal equipment, as reported by Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, the announcer of the United Press Center of the Defense Forces in the Tavria Region, during a telethon.
Shtupun highlighted that the occupiers did not conduct any airstrikes yesterday but executed three missile attacks using the S-300 air defense system in the Donetsk region. Despite a previous week of active use of aviation, the spokesman pointed out several reasons for the limited aviation activities, such as potential aircraft maintenance, issues with ammunition delivery, or adverse weather conditions.
According to Shtupun, the primary focus of the Russian attack is on Avdiivka and Novomykhailovka, with an emphasis on infantry assaults and minimal use of armored vehicles.
"There's movement towards Mariinsky Novomychailovka. These are predominantly infantry attacks, with almost no utilization of armored vehicles"
stated the Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun.
In the past 24 hours, the Russian army has launched 592 artillery attacks on Tavria.
The battles around Avdiivka have been ongoing since the beginning of October, with Russian soldiers actively attempting to surround and seize the city. Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their ground, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. While specific numbers were not provided, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR of the Ministry of National Defense, mentioned a substantial increase in the losses of Russian occupiers during their attempts to capture Avdiivka.
