Former US President Donald Trump

The Kremlin does not know how Donald Trump would stop Russia's aggression against Ukraine, as reported by Russian media. The Russian president's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stated that there were no contacts on this matter. Peskov said, 'We did not have any diplomatic contacts with former US President Donald Trump regarding the settlement of the situation in Ukraine,' as quoted by the pro-Kremlin agency Ria Novosti.

According to Russian media reports, the former US president once again declared that he would be able to resolve the conflict in Ukraine after winning the election but 'before moving to the White House.' Peskov expressed uncertainty, saying, 'We don't know how this can be done.'

War in Ukraine. Trump declares that he will end it in 24 hours

Last year, Donald Trump claimed that he could end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if he won the presidential election. After winning the Republican primary in Iowa in January, he reiterated during his speech that he would 'resolve' issues related to Ukraine.

Trump stated, 'Russia would never attack Ukraine if I were president. Putin and I got along well; that was a good thing, not a bad thing.'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to Trump's initial declaration in November and invited the former president to the country to witness the scale of Russian aggression. Zelensky remarked, 'If he can come here, I will need 24 minutes—yes, 24 minutes—to explain to President Trump that he cannot manage this war. He can't bring peace because of Putin,' in an interview with NBC.

In response to Zelensky's invitation, Trump stated in a Newsmax interview, 'I have great respect for President Zelensky, but I think it would be inappropriate to go to Ukraine at this time.' He noted that it could be a 'conflict of interest' for the Biden administration 'dealing with Ukraine.'

The former US president will not go to Ukraine. He pointed to a "conflict of interest"

When Trump spoke again about Ukraine in January, Zelensky once again invited him to the country. At the same time, the Ukrainian president expressed concerns, stating that the declarations of the former US president 'are dangerous'. Zelensky said, 'He says that he will make decisions himself. He doesn't even talk about talks with Russia, but without both sides.

This means that his idea, which no one knows anything about, even if it does not suit us, he will still do everything to achieve his goals. This worries me,' as quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. Vladimir Putin had previously welcomed Donald Trump's declarations, stating that 'we can only be happy' about Trump's possible return to the White House and 'the resolution of all burning crises'".
