The media spread false "light outage schedules"

The Ministry of Digitization is developing a map of suppliers that will operate during a long-term blackout. Ukrainians will be able to find the nearest company that has switched to energy-saving networks, obtain contact details and, if necessary, apply for a connection.

Map of providers who will provide internet during a power outage

If the lights go out among Ukrainians, the Internet will be there! The Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that it is creating a map of suppliers that will operate during long blackouts.

They must provide their services for 72 hours in the event of a power outage. This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. On a map that is still being developed, Ukrainians will be able to find the nearest Internet provider that has switched to energy-saving networks, obtain contact information and, if necessary, request a connection. In addition, it will help not to overload mobile networks. The more people connected to Wi-Fi, the longer the mobile connection will be stable. The map will be available to Kyiv residents in the near future.

How to fix your internet during a power outage

Recently, the head of the Ministry of Digitization, Mykhailo Fedorov, issued instructions on what to do to save the Internet even without electricity. He noted that the first thing you should do is contact your supplier and clarify whether they have already switched to energy-saving networks. You also need to find out how long the service provider will be able to provide users with access to the network.

According to him, the Ministry of Statistics and Ukrainian suppliers are preparing for possible power outages. However, this does not mean that the light "here and now" will be turned off.

The media spread false "light outage schedules"

Information about large power outages had already been disseminated online. And so, on October 17, a video report with the logo of the Single News marathon was published about an alleged new schedule of power outages in all cities of Ukraine in reference to the statement of the head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky. The Single News marathon team reported that this information was unreliable and appealed to the media not to spread falsehoods and counteract disinformation. Ukrenergo also stated that such information is false.

“We officially declare that Ukrenergo does not plan any restrictions on consumption in the near future - unless Russian attacks on the power system resume. Currently, the production of electricity is sufficient to cover all the needs of consumers. The current state of the power system does not provide any reasons to introduce downtime schedules shortly"

the company added.

At the beginning of October, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a Stavka meeting, where he discussed the state of energy infrastructure. I listened to reports from the military and all officials responsible for protecting our energy facilities and winter survival tactics.

According to Zelensky, this winter, Russian terrorists will again try to destroy our energy system.

“Russia's current leadership always does the same thing it did before. They repeat all the mistakes. They repeat all the evil. And when they fail, they think that they supposedly haven't done enough wrong to succeed. What crazy logic. But we must take this into account"

said the President of Ukraine.
