At its meeting on September 27, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a regulation appointing three deputy ministers of defense.
This was announced on Telegram by the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Taras Melnychuk.
In accordance with the adopted decisions of the government, the following person was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine:
On September 6, the Verkhovna Rada elected a new defense minister, former head of the State Property Fund, Rustem Umerov. In this position, he replaced Oleksiy Reznikov, who was fired the day before.
On September 18, the government dismissed six deputy ministers of national defense and the ministry's secretary of state. Only the first deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, did not lose his position.
In a comment for Suspilno, a source close to the management of the Ministry of National Defense said that several deputies dismissed by the Council of Ministers may be reinstated. However, Hanna Malyar will definitely not be reinstated.
At the same time, former deputy head of the Ministry of National Defence, Denis Sharapov, who was responsible for the work of the Defense Procurement Agency, told Suspilno that dismissing deputy ministers after appointing a new head is already a tradition.
