The EU has extended sanctions against Russia for another six months

The Council of the European Union extended sanctions against natural and legal persons of Russia responsible for violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The restrictions will apply for the next six months.

The Council of the EU recalled that the sanctions include travel restrictions on natural persons, asset freezes and a ban on transfers of funds to natural persons and legal entities of the Russian Federation. In total, there are almost 1,800 natural and legal persons on the sanctions list. All of them are related to the war between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, four Russians were removed from the list.

"The EU will continue to provide strong financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine and its people for as long as necessary," the agency's press office emphasized.

Therefore, the sanctions will remain in force until March 15, 2024.

Sanctions against Russia – news

Ukraine's Western partners are actively taking advantage of the economic restrictions imposed on the Russian Federation in connection with the war with Ukraine.

And so, in June, the European Union agreed to the 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions. This time, the restrictions apply to the transit through Russian territory of an expanded list of goods and technologies that may be used in the military sector. The list of sanctions also includes the sale of sensitive goods and dual-function technologies to third countries, which may resell them to Moscow.
