On the night of February 8th, Russian troops launched artillery strikes on a village in the Myrivska commune, setting off a chain of alarming events in the Nikopol district. According to Yevhen Yevtushenko, the head of Nikopol RVA, the morning brought with it renewed aggression as Nikopol and the Chervonogrigorovsk community came under attack.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the night assault. However, the aftermath of the attacks has prompted a comprehensive examination of the impacted areas by specialists to assess the extent of the damage and the nature of the threat posed.

As of 9:15 a.m., the threat of further artillery fire looms large over several areas, including the city of Marganec, the territorial community of Marganets, Nikopol, and the Chervonogrihory territorial community.

Yevtushenko has issued a stern warning urging residents to exercise caution and avoid open spaces amidst the ongoing threat.

While some communes in the district were spared the horrors of shelling and emergency situations overnight, a palpable sense of unease permeates the region.

As communities grapple with the uncertainty of escalating tensions, their resilience is put to the test in the face of adversity.
