Studying in the conspiracy: 61 class were created in the Kharkiv school operating in the metro

Class 61 began working in the underground of the Kharkiv metro. Children are transported there by special buses, accompanied by police officers patrolling. For this purpose, 34 routes have been created in the city. The first shift in the underground school starts at 9:00 am, the second at 1:00 pm. During four autumn days, slightly more than a thousand students sat at their desks.

In the underground school, which was established in the Kharkiv underground, 61 classes were created.

According to the head of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, policemen and rescuers are on duty at the stations. School buses take students to college.

“Now this is our reality. At least in Kharkiv. There are 61 classes of children of different ages at five metro stations,” wrote Ihor Klymenko in Telegram.

In his opinion, the first-graders stand out.

“Smiling, with curious eyes. They told their stories. They were so young, and they had already seen the war…” – said the head of the Ministry of the Interior.

According to him, for the sake of safety, school buses will be accompanied by patrols when transporting students from remote areas of the city. For this purpose, 34 routes have been created in the city.

Meals for students are also organized in the subway with funds from the city budget.

At the university station, located in the center of Kharkiv, only first-graders study in the first shift. There are seven classrooms as well as a medical center and playground. After the second lesson, the children received refreshments – a hamburger and juice.

According to the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, now that parents have seen the conditions in which their children study, the demand for offline services in the metro has increased slightly.

“There is a small reserve, we can increase the number of students by 10 percent. We have a request. We will continue, we want to equip a few more premises and stations,” said the mayor of the city in a comment to the media.

Classes will continue to take place in the subway

Already in the summer, the Kharkiv city authorities decided to build a school in the metro area. Children will study there three times a week. Air recovery systems, lighting and toilets have been installed in the classrooms.

 “We will be able to accept anyone who wants to. We will continue to organize classrooms in accordance with all standards, we have such opportunities. I hope that the number of students in such a "subway school" will increase every month," he said. Ihor Terekhov.

The mayor of Kharkiv also announced that work on the construction of bomb shelters in other educational institutions of the city will be continued in parallel. It is the world's first subway school.
