When a difficult year has passed and you think, what will be the next? You hope that he will be better. But all recent years have been one worse than the other. Where to look for strength so as not to fold your hands on the way to your dreams?

The number of challenges that fell on my shoulders, in addition to the well-known discrimination of queer people, is Russian aggression in Ukraine. I survived the occupation, the refugee through all the cities of the country. Identification of a malignant tumor in the mother and difficult treatment "under the bombs" in the literal sense of the word.

Queer Pandemic was released a few days before the start of the war

Discrimination based on gender. And the border is closed for men without exception.
In this respect? Serious illnesses last fall, long treatment. Postponement of repairs in my apartment. And at the same time - the suicide of a friend who did not even have time to see life. A bunch of years of difficult work, a loan for an apartment, when you deny yourself everything, even recreation. A business that failed. In particular, because of the war, the real estate owned by our family is completely illiquid.

Also, a year ago one of my closest friends was put in prison. Maybe for life. And all this time he is in the city of Kharkiv under fire without a court verdict behind bars. Therefore, I have long since stopped asking myself the question: what else should happen? It seems to be meaningless.

What is the philosophy of such a fate? I write about all this and try to find the answer together with the readers. In particular, on the pages of my collection of fantastic and at the same time acute social stories "Queer Pandemic". And this is an unanswered question, but with caution about the future, which we can still fix.
