Sergei Lavrov's statement at the UN: The West is responsible for the collapse of Ukraine

- The West, which thwarted the implementation of the Minsk agreements, is directly responsible for the collapse of Ukraine and causing a civil war there, says Sergei Lavrov. The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs made an absurd speech during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

In his speech, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation tried to convince the audience that the "special military operation" currently underway in Ukraine is a consequence of Western countries agreeing to violate the Minsk agreements.

According to Lavrov, first of all, the fundamental human rights of people who were citizens of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic were violated.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that the West is avoiding discussions about the real causes of the current crisis in Ukraine.

- About how for many years they nurtured an openly Nazi regime that openly rewrote the results of World War II and the history of its own nation. The West avoids substantive conversation based on facts and respect for all UN CHARTER rights agreements. There are clearly no arguments for honest dialogue, the diplomat said.

Russia open to peace negotiations

During his speech, Sergei Lavrov stated that the Russian Federation and its President Vladimir Putin had announced their willingness to resolve the conflict peacefully from the very beginning of the "special military operation".

However, this is impossible due to the attitude of Volodymyr Zelensky, who issued a presidential decree prohibiting negotiations.

- If the United States is so interested, I think it will not be difficult to issue orders to cancel this decree, Lavrov said.

A member of the Russian Foreign Ministry's delegation contracted cholera during the G20 summit in India, reports "The Moscow Times", citing the well-informed Baza channel on Telegram. Diplomats led by Minister Sergei Lavrov returned from the September 11 summit on an Il-96 plane.

Upon arrival, the passengers were examined and one of them was diagnosed with cholera. According to telegram channels, the man was admitted to an infectious disease hospital and is feeling well.

The infected diplomat was on the same plane as journalists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Lavrov and the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova, were on a different plane. However, it is possible that they came into contact with the patient during the summit.

Due to the detection of cholera, journalists were quarantined. Some of them were to be forcibly hospitalized on September 17. Journalists who had no symptoms of the disease were placed in an infectious disease hospital, despite negative tests. There they are kept under a "strict regime" - they are not allowed to go for walks or visit their loved ones.

Lavrov is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly. The Russian foreign minister is expected to hold about 20 bilateral meetings there, including with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Cholera is a very contagious bacterial disease of the gastrointestinal tract that is spreading epidemically. The main symptom of cholera is severe diarrhea. Bacteria that can enter the body with contaminated food or water infect the intestinal mucosa, disrupting the functioning of the digestive tract.

If left untreated, the disease can lead to dehydration, seizures, and death within hours.
