On Saturday night, a fire broke out at the Russian Lukoil refinery in Volgograd. Russian media reports indicated that the fire covered an area of 300 square meters and was the result of drone attacks.
Information regarding the incident was confirmed by the Governor of the Volgograd Oblast of the Russian Federation, Andriy Bocharov. However, he stated that the Ukrainian attack was repelled, and the fire was a consequence of the downed drone falling onto the facility.
The fire at the Russian refinery marks another precise attack by the Ukrainians. Local media reported hearing two explosions from the refinery area, and photos were published online showing huge flames and smoke emanating from the site.
Firefighters and medical personnel were called to the scene. However, according to preliminary findings, no one was injured in the incident.
