On Wednesday morning, loud explosions were heard in Kyiv. Then an air raid alert was announced in the capital and the region. Authorities warned of a missile attack. The services reported 53 people injured. This is the second such attack in the last two days. Ballistic missiles that are difficult to detect were used.

The alarm was announced in Kyiv around 3:00. Sirens also struck in the Chernigov region.

According to monitoring groups, the rockets came from the north and were most likely launched from the Bryansk Oblast in Russia.

Local authorities said damage was reported in four districts along the Dnipro River, which runs through the city.

"Cars are burning in the Dnipro district in the yard of a block of flats", said the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko. According to him, people were evacuated from one of the buildings. Emergency and medical services are on site.

According to Klitschko's information, an apartment building and the water supply network in the district were damaged, a private house was also burned down, and windows were blown out in a nearby children's hospital. Information about fires also comes from the Darnicka district.
