"Russian troops carried out two missile attacks on Kharkiv late on Wednesday evening, likely using S-300 missiles," said Oleh Synehubov, the head of the regional military administration, on social media. Brussels responded to the reports by calling for greater military support to defend Ukraine.

Information about the late evening attack is detailed by Ukrinform.

"The occupiers launched two attacks on Kharkiv, presumably with S-300 missiles. There is no information about casualties so far. We have received information about damage to non-residential infrastructure in the central part of the city," Synehubov stated.

In a social media post, the military added that emergency services were on-site.

This marks the second such raid in the East in recent days. Massive attacks occurred on Tuesday when Russian troops conducted air raids on Kyiv and the Kyiv Oblast, resulting in four deaths and over 90 injuries.

After each such event, Ukraine urges its allies not to discontinue military and financial assistance. This was one of the topics in the latest conversation between the EU and the Polish foreign minister.

"We agreed on the need to increase our military support for Ukraine, including providing long-range missiles and anti-aircraft missiles. We also discussed ways to strengthen measures against sanction circumvention, as significantly increased European exports to third countries could end up in Russia"
stated Josep Borrell.

In turn, several hours earlier, Radosław Sikorski argued on Twitter for "a response to Russia in a language that Putin understands: with sanctions".
