Reznikov: The Wagner Group no longer exists. It's over. I have no doubt who is behind the Yevgeny Prigozhin death

The alleged death of Yevgeny Prigozhin and his associates means the end of the Wagner Group, which until recently was a serious military force and took its toll on the Ukrainians. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov visited Germany in recent days and gave several interviews to the local media. Journalists asked him about the progress on the battlefield, about the attitude of the Russians and hopes for the final victory. There were also questions about the alleged death of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group.

The Fallout from Yevgeny Prigozhin's Alleged Death

In an interview with Bild, the Ukrainian minister emphasized that he did not believe that the oligarch's plane crashed by accident and was convinced that someone was very interested in Prigozhin's death. In his opinion, Vladimir Putin is behind the attack on the oligarch. Reznikov also noticed one important issue that few people remembered after the disaster.

Oleksiy Reznikov told German journalists that Yevgeny Prigozhin and his men had been murdered. And the order came from the highest authorities in the Kremlin. He noted that after the June coup, Vladimir Putin made a deal with the oligarch, but did not forgive him for his lack of loyalty. And this illustrates well who the president of Russia is.

Uncertain Fate of the Wagner Group Soldiers

Minister Reznikov spoke important words about the future of the Wagner Group. In his opinion, the private military contingent will be liquidated and will no longer constitute any military force in Russia. As he added, a year ago mercenaries were the main force in Russia, but now they have been defeated. Without Prigozhin, they will never rise again.

Ukrainians have no doubt that the deaths of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin mean the de facto end of their unit. Western intelligence is inclined to the theory that Yevgeny Prigozhin's plane was shot down by air defenses near Tver. The Russians did not reveal the causes of the disaster, and probably will not boast of them soon.

What will become of the soldiers of the Wagner Group?

Some mourn the death of their leaders and threaten the Russian authorities. Others have fled to Africa, and still others are in Belarus.
