Attack on a 17-year-old in the center of Warsaw. The police are looking for a suspect

On the night of September 27-28, a knife attack occurred on Aleja Jerozolimska in Warsaw, targeting a young Ukrainian individual who was subsequently hospitalized due to multiple knife wounds. The victim, 17-year-old Rostislav, was employed at a restaurant near the site of the attack.

Rostislav sustained seven stab wounds, including injuries to his head and back. His employer provided initial first aid before the arrival of the ambulance, and he underwent a four-hour surgical procedure as doctors fought to save his life.

The police are looking for the perpetrator

Rostyslaw hails from Kyiv and had relocated to Poland with his mother following the conflict in Ukraine. The authorities are actively searching for the assailant.

According to Rostislav's mother, the attack occurred when her son briefly stepped outside to smoke and returned to the restaurant. She suspects that the altercation may have been related to a mobile phone, as her son had recently acquired a new iPhone.

At present, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and it is uncertain whether it is connected to Rostyslaw's employment. The police are diligently seeking the perpetrator, conducting interviews with witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage from the vicinity. If the victim's condition permits, he will also be questioned. As of now, law enforcement has not made any arrests or recovered the weapon used in the assault.

The incident was a harrowing experience for Rostislav's family, with heartfelt gratitude extended to Polish medical professionals for their swift and skillful efforts in saving his life. The family also expressed appreciation for Rostislav's boss, Mr. Petr, who administered aid to the injured teenager until the ambulance arrived.
