On Wednesday (9 August), an explosion occurred at a factory near Moscow that supplies the Russian army and security services with optical equipment, such as night vision sights for tanks. Local independent media reported that the plant was working on a new generation bomber.

However, this was not an isolated case in recent weeks. Earlier, there was an explosion at the Tambov Gunpowder Factory, which is Russia's largest producer of this material - emphasizes "The Moscow Times". In July, an explosion occurred at the Promsintez plant, which produces industrial explosives.

The series continues. On the night of July 31-August 1, several drones tried to attack targets in Moscow. One of the drones crashed into a skyscraper. Last Thursday, there were two explosions in the town of Domodedovo near the capital of the country, according to reports in Russian social media. The incident took place near one of the most important airports in Russia. The subject was paralyzed.

Add to this the attacks on the occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Crimean Bridge, which, according to experts, is crucial in the context of maintaining control over the peninsula annexed by Vladimir Putin's regime.

The expert points out that he would not be surprised if the explosions in the armaments factories were the result of sabotage organized by dissatisfied Russians. He argues that the tension in Russian society is growing. Information unfavorable for the Kremlin began to slip out of the control of propagandists from Moscow.

- Undoubtedly, the number of acts of sabotage in Russia, for which the Russians are responsible, is increasing - says prof. Ponomariov. However, he does not see an economic basis here. The budget deficit of the Russian Federation is close to exceeding the year-long limit. In addition, the ruble is plummeting, and its exchange rate is rapidly approaching the bottom it reached shortly after Putin's invasion of Ukraine. On Thursday, you can buy almost 97.5 rubles for one dollar.

The Russian oppositionist adds that the tension among the Russians is growing, for example as a result of the "coup" of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the mercenary Wagner Group. In addition, more and more Russian citizens are being sent to war, in which Putin's troops suffer losses. This means many family tragedies in various regions of the country.
