More than 200 searches are underway at the premises of TCC, MSEK and WLK throughout Ukraine - Prosecutor General's Office

Law enforcement officials uncovered large-scale corruption schemes. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

It is noted that more than 200 simultaneous searches are currently being conducted in all regions of the country at the premises of TCC, MSEK and VLK.

"Under the procedural direction of the prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense, law enforcement officers conduct a comprehensive study of the functioning of territorial recruitment and social support centers, military-medical and medical-social expert commissions throughout the state," the statement reads.

According to the investigation, as part of the illegal benefit, employees assisted citizens in registering their disability or deeming them temporarily unfit for service. This made it possible to postpone or avoid conscription for military service.

Inspections of territorial recruitment and social support centers

In connection with any fact, in particular, regarding the abuse of power or official position, criminal proceedings were initiated (Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On August 17, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of August 11, 2023 “On the results of inspections of territorial recruitment and social support centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

On August 11, a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine was held. The main topic of the meeting was the results of the territorial control of recruitment and social support centers (TCC). After the meeting, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the cancellation of all regional “military committees” in Ukraine.

“Our decisions. We are canceling all regional 'military committees'. This system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery in war is high treason. Instead, soldiers who have gone through the front or who cannot be in the trenches because they have lost health, lost limbs, but retained dignity and do not have cynicism, it is them who can be entrusted with this recruitment system, said the president.

He added that 112 criminal proceedings had already been initiated against officers of the “Military Committees”, and suspicions were announced in 33 cases.

On August 1, Deputy Minister of National Defense Oleksandr Pawluk announced that by the end of 2023, 30% of the management of all military committees will be soldiers who have combat experience but cannot continue their service due to injuries.
