Modular shelters in Dnipro

In the Dnipro, modular reinforced concrete shelters with the highest safety class A-2 are still installed at public transport stops or other places of mass gathering of people.

This is according to the press release of the municipal office.

Shelters are made to order. According to the representative of the production plant, Oleg Janitski, they come in several varieties, but each of them is safe to use.

“According to the test results, our modular reinforced concrete structures are classified as civil defense protective structures. Storage class A-2, for which we have received a certificate of compliance. This is the highest safety class for structures that can be mounted on the surface, without digging into the ground,” he said.

As noted by Olen Yanitskyi, the production process of the protective structure starts with the production of the reinforcement frame. Then it is placed in a special form and poured with high-quality concrete.

The shelters consist of modules that are transported to the assembly site and welded there. The modules of this type can be used to build shelters of various sizes – from 5 to 150 people at a time. The shelter can withstand a pressure of up to 40 tons per square meter.

Only last year, 36 shelters of various types were installed in Dnipro, and from the beginning of 2023 – 22 more.

According to Oleksiy Samilyk, deputy director of the Public Works and Infrastructure Department of the Municipal Office, another 53 sheds are planned to be installed this year.
