In Ukraine, after the collapse of the network of the mobile operator "Kyivstar" on December 12, hacker attacks on other key services and systems were reported. In particular, Monobank fell victim to a massive DDoS attack. Work disruptions also occur with two other mobile operators - Vodafone and Lifecell.
Previously, the company did not inform about technical work
On the afternoon of December 12, the mobile operator Vodafone did not have the application. Ukrainians report it on social media.
People are complaining that they can't log in to the app. When opening the window, the following message appears: "Technical work. Technical work is currently underway, so the application is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for inconveniences."
Since the company did not provide advance notice of the technical work, the problem most likely occurred unexpectedly.
Vodafone announced payment delays
Due to a failure in the operation of the mobile operator "Kyivstar", the operator Vodafone reported a sharp increase in traffic and delays in payments.
“Due to a technical failure and network shutdown on the Kyivstar side, we are observing a sharp increase in traffic on Vodafone systems. This includes a significant increase in the load on the payment acceptance system. Due to this, you may experience delays in crediting payments to your balance, as well as timeouts or errors on payment pages during top-up,” the company said in a statement.
In turn, some Lifecell subscribers also complain about disruptions. For some, the application does not work and the company website does not load. This may also indicate a DDoS attack.
A hacker attack on Monobank is underway. What is known at the moment and whether the application works
A DDoS attack on the Ukrainian bank Monobank is underway. This was announced by the bank's co-founder Oleg Horohovskyi.
Oleg Horohovskyi wrote that the attack targets Amazon entry points (banks, website). According to the bank's co-founder, everything is under control.
So far, users have not reported any app crashes or performance issues.
Later, it turned out that the bank's specialists had solved the problem.
