Massive artillery shelling of Nikopol: the prosecutor's office has started an investigation

Russian terror happens every day. On August 16, 2022, in the afternoon, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out massive artillery fire on the residential quarters of Nikopol. On the night of August 17, the attack on the city was repeated. According to these facts, an investigation has been started.

This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, as reported by the Informant. Under the procedural guidance of the Nikopol District Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigation is carried out in criminal proceedings based on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On August 16, 2022, in the afternoon, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, disregarding the norms of international humanitarian law, carried out massive artillery fire from rocket salvo systems on the residential quarters of Nikopol. As a result of enemy shelling, 4 local residents were injured, and private homes were damaged.

On the night of August 17, Russian servicemen again shelled the city. As a result of enemy attacks, private houses, cars, a gas pipeline and a highway were damaged.

Also at night, the occupiers shelled the Chervonogrihoriv Tergromada of the Nikopol district with barrel artillery. A local agricultural enterprise was damaged and power lines were damaged.
