Dnipro Dam hit amid Russian mass attack against Ukraine's energy infrastructure

Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine overnight. The main part of the strikes was aimed at critical infrastructure facilities. The occupiers also hit the Dniprovska HPP, the largest hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine.

Air raid sirens sounded throughout the country, and explosions were heard by residents of at least nine regions.

According to Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, the enemy carried out the most massive attack on the Ukrainian energy sector in recent times. There are power outages in some regions. Power engineers are already working on restoring the power supply. We are doing everything possible to return light to people as soon as possible.

Zaporizhia Oblast

Russian troops launched at least 12 missile strikes on Zaporizhia. According to preliminary information, 7 houses were destroyed and 35 were damaged.

The Russians also hit the Dniprovska HPP, the largest hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine, in Zaporizhia.

A fire is currently raging at the station. Emergency services and power engineers are working on the scene to overcome the consequences of the numerous airstrikes. There is no threat of a breach. The situation at the dam is under control.

Kharkiv Oblast

Strikes on critical infrastructure facilities were recorded in Kharkiv. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleh Synehubov, the occupiers carried out more than 15 strikes on energy facilities. The city was left completely without electricity.

Due to the de-energization of pumping stations, there are already problems with water supply in the city. Also, electric transport will not take to the routes in the morning - transportation will be carried out by buses according to the blackout scheme. The Kharkiv metro is also not working.

All emergency services are working on the scene and eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Dniprovska Oblast

Since the morning, local residents have heard explosions in the region.

According to the head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration Serhiy Lysak, energy facilities in the Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad and Kamyanske districts were damaged as a result of the massive attack. Windows in houses were broken by the blast wave. There are power and water outages. Schedules of outages will also be introduced.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

In Khmelnytskyi Oblast, damage to infrastructure facilities and residential buildings is known. "There are dead and wounded among civilians. Details later," wrote the mayor of Khmelnytskyi Oleksandr Symchyshyn.

In addition, in the Shepetivska community, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, according to the mayor Vitaliy Buzyl. Repair crews are working to restore electricity and water supply. There are no casualties. Schools and kindergartens have been switched to distance learning. So let's keep calm and not ignore air alarms.

Sumy Oblast

According to the regional authorities, as a result of missile strikes on energy system facilities, emergency shutdown schedules have been temporarily introduced in settlements of the Sumy, Konotop and Shostka districts of Sumy Oblast.

The regional administration reminded that there are unbreakable points where you can charge your phone, other gadgets, and use the Internet. Power engineers are working to restore the power supply.

Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv Oblasts

During the air raid alert, a Russian drone hit an energy infrastructure facility in the Stryi district of Lviv Oblast. According to the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi, a fire started on the spot, which is currently being extinguished by firefighters.

In addition, a fire broke out in a forest in the Zolochiv district. According to preliminary information, it was caused by the fall of fragments of a "Shahed" drone, which was shot down by our Air Defense Forces. The Vinnytsia Regional State Administration also reported that the occupiers had hit a critical infrastructure facility.

Explosions were also heard in the Carpathian region. "The enemy attacked our region with both Shaheds and missiles. There are hits on a critical infrastructure facility. According to preliminary information, one person was injured. There is damage. Currently, there are no power outages in the region", wrote the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk.
