US President Joe Biden announced that he would ask Congress for an additional $60 billion to help Ukraine.

The amount given by the Americans is both a lot and a little. War is always very expensive

said Mykhailo Podolak, head of the administration of the President of Ukraine.

According to Mykhailo Podolak, Ukraine will "analyze" this amount when "appropriate resolutions and decisions of the parliament are adopted".

– It's very good that Biden is talking about numbers. However, we have to wait until the appropriate decisions are made

he said. He added that "war is always very expensive, especially on such a huge scale".

- We have 1,800 kilometers of border, 1,300 kilometers where fighting takes place directly. There was no such front line anywhere, he said in an interview with Kanal-24.

The head of the administration of the President of Ukraine also recalled that a huge amount of equipment and people were involved in the fighting. Therefore, in his opinion, the amount given by the Americans is "both a lot and a little".

Russia spends 35 percent on war. your budget

According to a Ukrainian official, Ukraine is now forced to spend a huge part of its budget on financing its army. This limits the possibilities of financing some social programs.

– If we want to win the war against a country that everyone was afraid of just yesterday, whose army was considered perhaps the largest, at least from a quantitative point of view, then these amounts must be $60 billion or more for us to fight effectively. This is a war for the future, for the rules of the world in which we will live, he emphasized.

He recalled that Russia spends 35 percent of their budget on war. That's about 11 trillion rubles that are spent directly on the war.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the total amount of aid to Ukraine from the United States has amounted to $66.2 billion, of which $43.1 billion is military aid, $20.5 billion is part of economic support, and another $2.6 billion is humanitarian aid .

Ultimately, it is not certain how much money from the new package considered by the White House will reach Ukraine. All the more so because, according to "The New York Times" and CBS television, Israel also asked the White House for equipment worth $10 billion, including 155 mm artillery ammunition, as well as additional missiles for the Iron Dome air defense system, including JDAM kits and systems that turn unguided aerial bombs into precision bombs.
