"No one will stop us from destroying Hamas" said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The politician emphasized that the proceedings against Israel pending in The Hague are groundless, and his government does not intend to change the strategy of conducting the conflict against Palestinian fighters. Sunday marks the 100th day of the war in the Gaza Strip.

A trial in The Hague has been ongoing for several days, accusing Israel of carrying out genocide in the Gaza Strip. The case was brought to the International Court of State by the government of South Africa. Tel Aviv representatives claim that the proceedings are unjustified, and those who support them are working to the benefit of Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister: The accusation before the ICJ is a hypocritical attack at the request of Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated Israel's position during a press briefing on Saturday. "No one will stop us - not The Hague, not the axis of evil, not anyone else," said the long-time leader, quoted by CNN.

As he emphasized, he considers the accusation of genocide a "hypocritical attack". Netanyahu referred to the events of October 7, when Hamas fighters killed approximately 1,200 people in Israel. It was the worst crime against Jews since World War II.

According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, the fact that Israel must defend its right to self-defense before the court of justice shows that "we are at the morally lowest point in the history of nations".

The Prime Minister of Israel spoke about the goals of the war in Gaza. "The border with Egypt must be closed"

The Prime Minister of Israel spoke about the goals of the war in Gaza. "The border with Egypt must be eliminated". During Saturday's press briefing, Netanyahu also defined the military goals of the Israeli operation in Gaza. Sunday is the 100th day of the conflict. The politician emphasized that the war can only come to an end when Israel takes complete control over the so-called Philadelphia corridor - a fourteen-kilometer border strip between Gaza and Egypt.

If this goal is achieved, the territory will be completely surrounded by Israel. Currently, Gaza borders Egypt, and the flow of people and goods takes place through the Rafah crossing. This is where most Palestinians fleeing the war went.

According to Netanyahu, leaving the border between Gaza and Egypt would pose a threat to Israel's "war gains."

"We will destroy Hamas, we will demilitarize the Gaza Strip, and military equipment and other deadly weapons will continue to flow into this southern opening, so, of course, we must close it"
the prime minister explained.

Netanyahu's words were commented on by the spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abu Zeid. In an interview with Egyptian television, Sada Al-Balad assured that Egypt still fully controls its borders, and any change to the status quo requires talks and negotiations taking into account international law, CNN reported.
