On the 4th of October, tensions in the Dnipro Region escalated as Russian troops launched a series of attacks on the city of Nikopol. These assaults took place both in the morning and afternoon, with artillery fire raining down on the city. Adding to the chaos, a drone was deployed, further endangering the lives of the city's residents.

This was announced by the head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, on his Telegram channel.

According to him, as a result of the shelling, a 75-year-old woman was injured by shrapnel. Her condition is moderate and she is in hospital.

Additionally, 10 private houses and several farm buildings were destroyed in the city. Another one is destroyed. Infrastructure facilities, cars and power lines were also damaged.

In other parts of the region, the day passed without Russian attacks, the official wrote.

In Dnipro, a family from Bakhmut received a new apartment from benefactors

Denys, an immigrant, claims that the Ukrainian military helped him leave the area, which was constantly bombed. He recalls that in order to cook food, he had to create a wood-burning oven himself from available materials.

“Our houses were located by the river, near Bakhmutka, and on the other side of the river, literally in a few streets, Russian troops were already standing. We hid in entrances, in basements, in our houses. We also hid in a nearby kindergarten," says the displaced person.

The family lived under fire for nine months. Products and other humanitarian aid were brought by volunteers and soldiers, Denys says. Seven-year-old son Staś was the first to meet the soldiers who took the family out of the city.

Soldier Petro Voloshchenko and his brothers organized the evacuation of his family. He says they negotiated with his parents for about three weeks to finally leave Bakhmut. At the same time, through my connections, I was looking for a place where I could take my family.
