Shelter is a joint program of the Red Cross of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, which provides for the payment of compensation for free provision of temporary accommodation to internally displaced persons. The amount of compensation is UAH 450 per month for the accommodation of one person in the warm period of the year and UAH 900 – in the heating season.
In July 2023, payments for March began. 75 million hryvnias will be allocated for this purpose, which will go to 29 thousand homeowners in the Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy oblasts.
In August, the payment of compensation for sheltering displaced persons in April should begin.
The main condition is that property owners must be over 18 years of age and accommodate displaced people in their apartments free of charge.
