On August 29 in Dnipro, a patrol police officer shot a man on Ivan Mazepa Avenue during a stop. Patrol officers stopped a Jaguar that was breaking traffic rules. There were a man, a woman and two children inside. The conflict that arose between the couple and law enforcement officials ended in a fight and a shootout.

The shooting in the center of Dnipro took place on Tuesday, August 29, around 6:00 p.m. Local Telegram channels shared a photo and video of rescuers trying to resuscitate a man on Ivan Mazepa (formerly Petrovsky) Avenue. According to unofficial information, he was shot by a police officer.

The shooting and fight were recorded on video

Later, a video of a conflict between patrol officers and a man and woman in a car surfaced online. The video was shot by the deceased's children, who were sitting in the back seat. From the beginning of the conflict, the boys did not start filming and persuaded their father to fight with a policeman.

The recording shows two patrol officers standing at the driver's side door open and demanding that she get out of the car. The policemen are pulling her by the arms, and next to her is a passenger who is literally lying on top of her. The driver screams that she hurts and asks to be let go.

As a result, patrol officers forcibly pulled the woman out of the car to the ground and demanded that she lie down on her stomach. However, the couple still resists: the woman sits back in the seat and the man runs out of the car. The police used tear gas and tried to detain the passenger.

The video does not show what happened seconds later between law enforcement officials and the couple as the child got out of the car. However, the fight between the passenger and the policeman can be seen further: he throws the policeman on the asphalt and runs towards the policewoman, screams are heard. The policeman gets up, catches up with the man and fires three shots. The recording shows that at this moment the policewoman is lying motionless on the asphalt. The film ends with the children approaching their father and asking him to call an ambulance.

A photo of a policewoman who was allegedly attacked by a man with a jaguar has also appeared on the Internet. The woman has a broken nose, her face and hands are covered in blood.

Why did they stop the car?

According to the investigation, patrol officers stopped the car in which minor children were traveling. The driver and passengers refused to leave. The officers then used force and gas canisters. During the fight, the police officer fired three shots in the passenger's back with his service weapon. The man died on the spot.

The State Bureau of Investigation noted that the car was impounded for traffic violations. After the arrest, the man behaved aggressively and had all the symptoms of intoxication.

Who was driving

Data on who exactly was behind the wheel of the Jaguar varies. The video from the scene shows that a woman is actually behind the wheel. This was confirmed earlier in a commentary for journalists by Oleksandr Savenko, the deputy head of the district prosecutor's office in Dnepropetrovsk.

However, recordings from the surveillance cameras of the situation center, which appeared on the Internet, show that the car was driven by a man. He may have moved to the passenger seat after the stop.

The man who was shot by a police officer is a resident of Jumberi Silogava. On September 1, the man was supposed to celebrate his 39th birthday.

A person with such a name and surname is registered as an individual entrepreneur. According to YouControl, the Silogava engaged in ritual activities and trading in stalls and markets. The man lived in the village of Petrykivka in the Dnipro region. He left behind two minor sons. He recently divorced his wife Natalia Silogawa.
