In 2022, athletes from Dnipro Oblast won more than 350 medals at international competitions

Dnipro athletes won over 350 awards in 2022 at international competitions. Both adults and young athletes distinguished themselves. This was reported by the press service of the Dnipro Regional State Administration.

Throughout 2022, the athletes of the region conquered competitions of the highest level. The result of their work is more than 350 medals. The whole "harvest" of awards in 2022 was won by athlete Yaroslava Maguchih. In the spring, she won the World Indoor High Jump Championships. A little later, she won silver at the World Championships in the USA. In the summer in Munich, she became the European champion. She also won the Diamond League season.

Ilona Prokopevniuk, a wrestler, added awards to the region's coffers. She has silver medals at the European and World Championships in freestyle wrestling.

And Danylo Filchenko won the "gold" of the European water skiing championship for his jump from the springboard. Before that, he became the winner at the World Games in the American Birmingham. 37 athletes from the Dnipro region have been selected as candidates from Ukraine to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
