The Antonovsky Bridge was blown up on November 11, 2022 by Russian forces

“Heavy fighting is taking place near the Antonovsky Bridge over the Dnieper, near Kherson,” said Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the Ukrainian troops in the south of the country. The situation is difficult, but the Ukrainian armed forces are not giving up.

Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the South operational command, confirmed the reports of British intelligence in her statement on Ukrainian television. According to the information provided, the fighting on the eastern bank of the Dnieper has intensified.

“Heavy fighting is taking place near the Antonovsky Bridge over the Dnieper, near Kherson,” said Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the Ukrainian troops in the south of the country.

As she pointed out, the situation on the front line is made difficult by blowing up the dam on the Dnieper River in Nova Kakhovka. This happened on June 6. It's not just the soldiers who have the problem. Losses related to blowing up the dam are estimated at billions of dollars, and flooding can lead to an increase in food prices and disrupt the economic situation in the world.

The Russians failed to dislodge about 70 Ukrainian defenders

Natalia Humeniuk stressed that, despite this, the Ukrainian troops are recording successes in this section.

Last night, 49 Russian soldiers were killed and 15 pieces of equipment were destroyed, including eight armored vehicles, four boats and drones.

The Institute for War Research (ISW) said in a Saturday report that Russian forces were unable to dislodge about 70 Ukrainian soldiers from fortified positions near the Antonovsky Bridge.

“The Russian military command blindly ordered its forces to recapture the area under the Antonovsky bridge on the eastern bank, which led to significant losses among Russian soldiers and armored vehicles as a result of Ukrainian artillery fire and laid mines,” the ISW said.

The Antonovsky Bridge on the Dnieper connecting the town of Oleshki with Kherson was blown up on November 11, 2022 by Russian forces retreating from Kherson.
