Heavy fighting in Avdiivka. Ukrainian troops carry out maneuvers in the city besieged by Russians

The Russians are destroying Avdiivka in the Donetsk Oblast with all kinds of weapons, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to maintain the defense. The US is also talking about the critical situation in Avdiivka. The city is at risk of being overrun by Russian troops, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said. Maneuvers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are underway in the city besieged by Russians.

The main target of Russian attacks remains the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk Oblast. Active operations of Russian troops began over four months ago, in October 2023. Now the situation around the city is critical. On the evening of February 15, DeepState analysts reported that Russian troops had advanced north and south of the city. The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that it was urgently deployed to reinforce Ukrainian forces in the Avdiivka area. Avdiivka under constant air bombardment

Soldiers of the Detached Mechanized 110th SZU Brigade are still standing in Avdiivka. This was reported by the brigade's press service. According to it, its units "steadily, bravely, heroically" held the city through two years of a full-scale invasion. They emphasize that the Russians are destroying Avdiivka with all kinds of weapons.

Currently, the enemy is simply throwing colossal forces in terms of personnel, armored vehicles, and aviation towards Avdiivka – as reported by soldiers of the Detached Mechanized 110th SZU Brigade.

"There are over 12 separate enemy units standing against us. Brigades, regiments, separate special-purpose units. Our soldiers perform their assigned tasks in inhuman conditions, under constant artillery fire every minute, and under constant air bombardment" they add.

Rodion Kudryashov, deputy commander of the 3rd OBS, said this on Radio Svoboda. Kudryashov confirmed that maneuvers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ongoing in Avdiivka.

"There are certain stages of these actions. First, you have to withdraw from the positions because they are simply razed to the ground, i.e., the position is destroyed, and our soldiers retreat to more convenient places to maintain the defense line. Moreover, in some cases, we do not see the advisability of maintaining certain positions in the city, and we are also moving to more convenient positions to offer greater resistance," said Rodion Kudryashov.

John Kirby: Russia may occupy Avdiivka.

According to Kirby, this is largely due to Ukraine's lack of artillery shells and Russia's superiority in personnel. "And because Congress has still not passed additional legislation, we have not been able to provide Ukraine with the artillery shells it so desperately needs to thwart these Russian attacks," he stressed.
